To have robust and reliable two-way radio communications across the 3 day event.
The Scottish International Airshow based in Ayr attracted over 80,000 visitors during the 3 day event spanning 2nd, 3rd and 4th September 2016. The site covered 2 miles and it was vital that communications were crystal clear and simple to operate. With the sheer volume of visitors in attendance, organisers need to ensure the health and safety and manage the smooth running of the event.
Working with the client, Scotia agreed to provide Hytera digital equipment for this prestigious event. As always, the equipment was fully tested before it left the Scotia premises. Hytera PD565 handheld two-way radios, a Motorola DM3600 desktop radio, a Hytera repeater and D-shape and acoustic earpieces were supplied.
Once again the Scottish International Airshow was a tremendous success and the organisers were very happy with the service, advise and equipment supplied by Scotia Radio Services.
Scotia Radio provided the two-way radios required to communicate across the Scottish International Airshow 2016 site in Ayr. The site extends for just under two miles with the main event site lying in the centre, with the Multi Agency Control Centre adjacent.
Communication between site management and the MACC is a paramount, so there can be no drop in communication. Scotia Radio provided TSIA with 30 handsets, ear-pieces, call-station and a repeater station. The one repeater station covered the entire site with ease, and line of sight was never an issue.
The equipment was delivered promptly and a brief overview of the equipment was more than adequate, considering how easy it was to operate. We were provided with two long range channels, and four short range channels, all named and prepared for each handset.
When you are working with a team of volunteers, it is important that everything is kept as simple to operate as possible, and Scotia’s two-way radios were just that.
We look forward to turning this annual hire into a continuing relationship, and would recommend Scotia Radio to any event company.
