To have two-way radio communication at the 3 hubs for the Pedal for Scotland event at Glasgow, Linlithgow and Edinburgh.
The Pedal for Scotland event on 11th September 2016 comprised 3 bicycle rides: the Classic Challenge 46 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh run; the 112 mile Big Belter ride Glasgow to Edinburgh via the Southern Uplands and the 10 mile Wee Jaunty cycle comprising of the last 10 miles of the Classic Challenge to Edinburgh.
Thousands of riders took part in this event and two-way radio was vital to help ensure the security, health and safety of the riders and general public alike. Good communications were also very important for the event organisers to ensure the smooth running of the big day.
Scotia decided to offer Hytera digital two-way radios. The model chosen was the Hytera PD365 with display screen. The client also required D-shaped earpieces, two way radio chargers and spare two way radio batteries.
The event was very successful and the organisers were delighted with the equipment and the customer service offered by Scotia Radio Services.
“Scotia Radio Services provided us with superb kit that worked flawlessly across our various Pedal for Scotland event sites. Their radios were used for Horizontal comms at each site which linked into a bigger Vertical comms system that stitched them all together. The fact that Scotia pre-prepared and packaged up all of the kit for each site meant that distribution and collecting back was simple and losses were non-existent. On the back of this, WMP will definitely be using Scotia again on next year’s Pedal for Scotland”
