GLASGOW CITY MISSION
Glasgow City Mission was founded in 1826 and was the first ever city mission established in the world. Glasgow City Mission works with vulnerable and disadvantaged children and adults in Glasgow. During the winter months, Glasgow City Mission hosts the Glasgow Winter Night Shelter and provides emergency accommodation for rough sleepers and people with nowhere else to sleep.
The Winter Night Shelter is manned by a team of full-time staff and volunteers. It is open every night between December and March. For safety and security reasons, good communication in the shelter is essential.
“Scotia Radio have enabled us to build real confidence with staff and the volunteers. Scotia’s help has been really quite significant.”
Solution (Services Delivered)
Scotia met with the client to discuss their two-way radio needs. They wanted a reliable and robust radio that would work very well indoors. They also required the radios to be discreet so that they did not draw attention or upset the visitors to the Winter Shelter. It was agreed to offer the client the HYT TC-620 UHF analogue radios with a six-way charger and D-shape earpieces with mic and press-to-talk button.
The Glasgow City Mission staff are delighted with the HYT TC-620 radios and the service that they receive from Scotia. Winter 2017-18 wil be the third winter that Scotia has been providing two-way radios to Glasgow City Mission.
