Background and Obstacles
The Pedal for Scotland event on 11th September 2016 comprised 3 bicycle rides: the Classic Challenge 46 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh run; the 112 mile Big Belter ride Glasgow to Edinburgh via the Southern Uplands and the 10 mile Wee Jaunty cycle comprising of the last 10 miles of the Classic Challenge to Edinburgh.
Thousands of riders took part in this event and two-way radios were vital to help ensure the security, health and safety of the riders and general public alike. Good communications were also very important for the event organisers to ensure the smooth running of the big day.
Solution
Scotia decided to offer Hytera digital two-way radios. The model chosen was the Hytera PD365 with display screen. The client also required D-shaped earpieces, two-way radio chargers and spare two-way radio batteries.
Outcome
The event was highly successful and the organisers were delighted with the equipment and the customer service offered by Scotia Radio Services.
